About Us

Julie Canterbury, MA, LMHC

With over 15 years of clinical experience and a decade leading MCS Counseling Group, Julie Canterbury, LMHC, provides supervision that is deeply reflective, ethically grounded, and rooted in the belief that growth begins with self-awareness.

As a Washington State Approved Clinical Supervisor (RCW 18.225 / WAC 246-809), Julie offers:

  • Clinical Supervision for associates pursuing LMHC, LMFT, or LICSW licensure.

  • Supervision-of-Supervisors for licensed clinicians developing their leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Retreats for Group Practices or Individuals working in Private practice or other agencies

Her supervision model blends the Person of the Therapist Training (POTT) Model with Reflective Systemic Supervision to help therapists and supervisors integrate personal insight, emotional intelligence, and ethical decision-making into every aspect of their professional work.

What to Expect

Julie’s supervision process is collaborative, supportive, and designed to help clinicians:

  • Develop a clear supervision framework that aligns with Washington State standards.

  • Strengthen awareness of countertransference, transference, and parallel process.

  • Build confidence in clinical documentation, ethical decision-making, and case conceptualization.

  • Explore how personal experiences, identity, and systemic context influence the therapeutic relationship.

  • Grow as reflective, compassionate, and competent mental health professionals.

Why Choose Reflective Supervision

Supervision with Julie goes beyond case review. It’s an intentional space for personal and professional transformation—where curiosity replaces judgment, and insight becomes the foundation for skillful, ethical practice.

Whether you are an associate counselor completing hours toward licensure or a licensed clinician ready to refine your supervisory leadership, Julie’s guidance offers structure, accountability, and space for genuine reflection.
